Ma’akum Developmental foundation mdf implemented the project of Solar energy system to the IDPs in Al-Dameera Camp in Moza’a.

This project aims to provide the suitable and safe protection for the IDPs in the camp especially protection of children and women who maybe exposed to many dangers due to the darkness. As well as this project helps people to manage their lives.

The project also aims to enhance resilience in the rural areas and in the neediest and most vulnerable communities also in need of low cost power source in Al-Dameera camp in Al-Hameli area, Moza’a district which is inhabited by 345 families..

The project includes distribution of batteries, solar panels, connecting networks, and installing lamps and switches inside the tents and in the alleys of the camp.
These solar power systems provide an alternative and renewable source of energy that provides rural families with a low-cost, uninterrupted source of electricity for long hours.

Mr Hassan Al-Kholidi, the director of the Executive Unit, confirmed that there are (11) camps that still need a lighting project to alleviate the suffering of the residents, such as
Al-Rajhi camp, Manaqal camp, Al-Rawda camp, Al-Najd camp, Al-Rubeeq camp, Al-Maneej camp, Al-Rahba camp, Al-Hajeb camp, Al-Hajeej camp, Al-Hasbri camp, and Wadi Al-Shat camp.

Ma’akum foundation calls on all organizations to respond to the distress call, especially in light of the new displacement movement from Al- Hodeidah areas, which amounted to 280 families in Al-Mukha and 48 families in the Al-Shamaytayn district.

In turn, Mr Yasser Al-Fotini, the Executive director at Ma’akum Developmental Foundation mdf, confirmed that this project will provide a permanent source of energy and lighting inside the camp, preserve their properties from intruders in the dark into the camp, also alleviate their continuing suffering under these difficult conditions.
