As part of 2020 humanitarian response plan in Yemen

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, a free pharmacy was opened for fevers in Al-Thawra General Hospital in Taiz, with generous funding from Mercy Relief Foundation and implemented by Ma’akum Developmental Foundation mdf.

This project aims to provide free medicines for patients with fevers in light of the widespread of dengue fever, Chikungunya, cholera and viral fever in the governorate.

This pharmacy is considered the third after opening two former pharmacies in Al jomhori hospital and Al-Taawon Hospital, and it is still providing service until this moment since five months ago.

It is considered the only free pharmacy project in the governorate, and it is managed with precise mechanisms that ensure that treatment reaches the patient directly, through the recommendation of a specialist doctor only in coordination with the hospital administration.

In the opening ceremony, Mr. Abdu Ali Mohammad, Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Taiz, thanked Mercy Relief for its support for such multiple health and relief projects that alleviate much of the suffering of the population, thanking mdf for its continuous efforts and projects in the governorate.

At the opening, the Director General of Sala Directorate, Mr. Aref Al-Yousifi, described this project as distinguished and will have a role in alleviating the suffering of patients. He also thanked mdf foundation for its relief and development role.

For his part, the head of the foundation, Dr. Abdul Hamid Hamid, thanked and gratituded to all the supporters who had a role in establishing these pharmacies and continuing them until this moment, noting the Foundation’s intention to open new free pharmacies in the rest of the hospitals, calling on those interested and all parties to support such a project, especially in light of these difficult circumstances in Yemen.
