The director of Taiz Education Office signs a memorandum of understanding with Ma’akum Developmental Foundation MAAKUM to implement the project, “Qualifying the Future Pioneers to Get the TOEFL” for the top high school students in the governorate.

Mr. Abdulwasea Shaddad, Director of Taiz Education Office, signed Today, Wednesday – 4 October 2023, a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Abdulhameed Al-Yusufi, Chairman of Ma’akum Developmental Foundation MAAKUM, to inaugurate the project, “Qualifying the Future Pioneers to Get the TOEFL”, which aims to improve the students’ English so they can get the TOEFL certificate, which will enable them to get TOEFL-requiring international scholarships.
In the inauguration ceremony, the director of Taiz Education Office encouraged the targeted students to actively interact with the program, as it is a rare opportunity that came to them after a lot of efforts. He also wished them success in the placement test, stressing the importance of the project, which will help them achieve their ambitions and join decent international universities and educational institutions.
In addition, the director of the Education Office thanked the benefactor who funded the program, calling the private sector to encourage and support such initiatives for excellent students in the governorate. He also praised the efforts and interventions of MAAKUM Foundation, which has an outstanding presence in the field of providing real educational programs that help meet the needs of the education sector in the governorate.
On his side, Dr. Abdulhameed Al-Yusufi, Chairman of MAAKUM Foundation, thanked the Taizzi businessman for such a unique initiative, encouraging the students to do their best to achieve the goal of the program, which includes specialized courses and other programs that aim to build their English skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, within the specified time.
Moreover, he mentioned that the project will target (40) male and female students, who will pass the placement test, (10) of whom will get full scholarships, while the other (30) will get partial scholarships, paying only (30%) of the program while the Foundation will pay the other (70%).
He added that the program includes intensive activities that prepare the students for the TOEFL, in coordination and cooperation with the Education Office, enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors and civil society that aims to improve education..
It is worth mentioning that this project is of the most important projects of the Education Sector of the Foundation that aim to involve the private sector in Taiz in order to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors and civil society and intensify the efforts to improve the educational outputs and qualitatively qualify excellent students internally and externally in a way that will contribute to the renaissance of the governorate and the whole country.
