In coordination with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), local authorities and acivil society organizations (CSOs).
Today, Saturday, August 20, 2022, mdf held the closing event for the celebration of WHD, where many groups of society, especially the local authority, CSOs, influencers in society, media and social media participated in it. The event concluded the other activities mdf started last Thursday, as follows :
1. An electronic media campaign about World Humanitarian Day 2022, in which posts and expressive sentences and phrases about this occasion were published and shared by a number of popular male and female media and humanitarian activists on various social networking sites.
2. A unified Friday sermon in coordination with the Office of endowment and Guidance about the importance of humanitarian work, encouraging and honoring its pioneers, and standing against the unjustified inciting campaigns against them in such difficult circumstances.
3. A vigil on Saturday, August 20, 2022, which included a human chain of multiple social groups, carrying expressive banners and posters in the presence of TV channels. The public sector, the civil society, media, marginalized groups, the blind, the disabled, children and women, as well as volunteers in the health and education sectors participated in the vigil.
This event was to honor the pioneers of humanitarian work, and to send a message from the people in Taiz Governorate to the whole world that their vigil is an appreciation for humanitarian workers and their efforts and an affirmation that #It_takes_a_village_to_raise_a_child. It also shed light on the need to unite efforts to stand with the human being wherever he is, to align to serve the human, and to combat smearing campaigns that affect organizations and workers in the humanitarian field.
