Sponsored by the Governor of Taiz Governorate, Mr. Nabil Shamsan, and in the presence of Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technical and Vocational Training, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Wasabi And leaders from the local authority in the governorate Ma’akum Developmental Foundation (mdf) celebrated the graduation of 200 future entrepreneurs within “Teach me a profession” program, which benefited 200 male and female trainees in six specializations.
At the ceremony, bags and basic kits were distributed to each trainee so that they could enter the labor market and start establishing their own projects.. 88 laptops, 42 sewing machines, 29 bags to enable electrical installations, 28 bags to enable maintenance and programming of smartphones, and 13 bags for professional food industries ..
The trainees spent more than 800 training hours
At the ceremony, The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical and Vocational Training, in a speech by the official authorities, praised the efforts of Ma’akum Developmental Foundation mdf, especially its adoption of such quality programs through training and qualifying women and youth for the labor market. Furthermore, developing their capabilities more and more, confirming the success of such projects, which start small and then become larger and more successful projects.
In the foundation’s speech, Dr. Abdul Hamid Hamid, the head of mdf, welcomed the guests of the ceremony and the graduates, focusing that “Teach me a profession” project is among the priorities of the early recovery sector in the foundation, pointing out that this program aims to reduce unemployment among young people and empower women who support their families, stressing the importance of financing development projects. For its impact in bringing about sustainable development in society, and he extended a word of thanks to those who funded this qualitative development program.
For their part, the six participating youth expressed their happiness on this occasion, in which they were able to acquire skills that qualify them for the labor market, meet their aspirations and push them to establish their own projects that enable them to be self-reliant, affirming their determination to move forward towards a more profitable and empowering future.
The celebration of honoring and empowering the 200 future entrepreneurs was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Bakari, Deputy Director General of Social Affairs Office and Labor, Engineer Qaid Al-Silwi, Director General of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office, Mr Ayman Al-Mikhlafi, Director General of the Youth and Sports Office, and number of representatives of organizations and institutions working in Taiz, correspondents of channels, news sites and media professionals and activists.
It is worth mentioning that Ma’akum Developmental Foundation mdf has trained and qualified for the labor market during the previous years (250) trainees in several fields, bringing the number of those who graduated from the foundation’s early recovery programs to (450) trainees.
